Coastal flora, salt marshes, and open skies form the foundation of my work. From native landscapes to iconic landmarks, my subjects are rooted in a deep reverence for the Southeastern coast and for Bluffton, South Carolina, where I live and create.

Much of my inspiration comes from the colors and compositions found in architecture and interior design. I often imagine how a painting will complement a thoughtfully designed space bringing energy, warmth, and a sense of place to the room it lives in.

My work is shaped by over a decade of experience as an art educator. As a visual art teacher at River Ridge Academy and a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education, I’ve learned to approach the creative process with spontaneity and joy. My students remind me daily that art should be fun and that mindset lives in my paintings: bold colors, energetic lines, simplified forms, and a playful spirit. When a subject or idea starts to feel too predictable, I pivot. That willingness to explore and evolve keeps my process fresh and allows each piece to emerge with curiosity and freedom.

In 2025, I was honored to debut a collection of original works at Montage Palmetto Bluff’s Octagon restaurant a special moment in my journey and a celebration of the place that inspires me most.

When I am not painting or teaching, you can find me enjoying this beautiful Lowcountry with my wife Meg and family. Catch me out on the May River, down at the Beach, on the golf course or frequenting our favorite restaurants and watering holes.
